Within this workshop, you will learn how to use this astonishingly simple system by:

* Showing you how to use the system.

* Plotting out the pattern design to paper correctly.
* Checking your drafted pattern by constructing a toile (please bring 3 mtrs of fabric or a bed sheet to do this)
* Tricks and tips on how to use the system correctly.
* unfinished projects or guidance with construction.

A workshop for those who want to try out the system before buying it or if you already have the system but want a little helping hand.

You will need to bring 3 metres (approx) of calico or fabric for a Toile (an early version of a finished garment – prototype)

Sew Essentials: Zips a Dee Doodah

Jenniffer Taylor

Part of a series of sewing workshops running throughout the year, aiming to cover the essential sewing techniques. A great way to kick start your sewing journey or refresh those old skills.

In these session we will be covering four different zip finishes

  • Centred and invisible zips– Starting with the centred zip. An easy technique which is perfect for the beginner sewer. However we aim to take you to the next level by also mastering the invisible zip. A great start for budding dressmakers.
  • Hand finished zip – Take you projects to the next level with a couture hand finished zip! It may look tricky at first but we will take you through each step to create the tailored finish you are looking for.
  • Fly front / Trouser Zip – A zip that is often not attempted due to it’s layered construction. It’s a great zip to add to skirts or trousers and our workshop aims to demystify and perfect.
