City & Guilds – Level Three Craft Skills Diploma
A one-year course aimed at learners who work or want to work in the creative industry. It is a generic qualification that can be adapted to meet most craft disciplines. It covers craft skills-materials, design and making, as well as support areas such as marketing, business, administration and customer care.
Within the course you will cover:
- Cultural and historical study within chosen craft area
- Professional Practice studies (health and safety, budget and expenditures, time and diary management, self-employment, insurances, setting up your business, financial advice, marketing and selling)
- Construction techniques
- Collaborative design project (to market and sell at an NEC event)
- Business design realisation (Design and creation of your craft business model for example a range of scarves, bags, textile art, garments)
